I’ve been an LCA parent since 2012 and began teaching here in 2018. My husband and I have 3 kids – a freshman and two 8th graders (and yes, they’re both in my class this year!). We are long-time avid Chiefs fans! We love to BBQ and hang out by the pool in the summer, and during the school year, we can be found supporting our kids in their soccer/football/cheer/theater/cross country/track/academic endeavors.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
BS in Biology from the University of Tulsa.
My favorite JH teacher was my 7th grade English teacher. She was notorious for throwing erasers at sleeping or disrespectful students, and she taught by repetition… ad nauseum! But I can still diagram sentences and recite all the helping and linking verbs.
My favorite HS teacher was my honors physics teacher. He challenged and inspired me beyond what I thought I was capable of learning. He taught me that it was OK to learn something and not fully understand it YET. The understanding will come later if you give it time and keep trying. I try to model my classroom after theirs, sans the projectile erasers. 😉
