Play Each Quarter

While Covid interrupted our plans for Grandparents and Special Friends Day, it won’t stop us from sharing with you a message from David Espenlaub, a grandparent at LCA. I have known David and his wife Susan for many years. They model Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall commend your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts.” Their faithfulness to the Lord and their desire to “stay in the game for all four quarters” inspire me. For them, staying in the game means daily prayer meetings, sometimes over Zoom, with multiple ministry partners. While I am still in the “first half” of my life, I like to observe and glean lessons from those who are living their “second half.” Although David and Susan are retired from their professional careers, they are very much working. They may not be doing all the things they once were, but they are still actively engaged in kingdom work. David and Susan inspire me by their godly examples to stay in the game for all four quarters as faithful followers of Christ. I found this devotional encouraging if you want to learn more about how to “Play Each Quarter.”

Thank you to all who have supported LCA through your prayers and gifts as we carry out our mission to partner with Christ-centered families to educate and develop fully equipped disciples.
