In many ways, Higher Ground is the heartbeat of our secondary school and is intentionally scheduled during the middle of the day. The mission of our Higher Ground program is for our students to Encounter God through worship, teaching, and testimony; to Encourage one another by building and strengthening relationships; and to Equip them with teaching on relevant, real world topics within a biblical worldview.
On Mondays in Higher Ground, students participate in small groups in an effort to build relationships and strengthen bonds with their classmates and mentors. Wednesdays, we focus on leadership and life skills within a Biblical perspective. Fridays, our talented Praise Bands lead us in worship, followed by professional or student speakers that encourage our community by addressing a wide array of relevant topics and cultural issues from a biblical perspective.
Lucas Christian Academy is a hybrid model school and is organized around the foundational premise that meaningful and positive parental mentoring makes the biggest difference in a child’s education.
It is the policy of Lucas Christian Academy (“LCA” or “the School”) to maintain a school environment that is free from discrimination and to conduct its educational practices, admissions program, financial aid policies, hiring, and other school-administrative programs on the basis of an individual’s qualifications and abilities. The School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, gender, sex, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, military status, religion, disability/handicap, or any other protected status in accordance with the requirements of all federal, state, and local laws, unless such status is required as a bona fide occupational qualification and/or such status or characteristic contradicts the deeply held religious convictions of the School, as explained in our Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality.
