Amazing Combination

We wanted biblical teaching and the ability to be involved. LCA is an amazing combination of traditional and homeschool.

Extended family

The LCA community is an extended family that has celebrated and grieved our life's biggest moments throughout the last 17years.

The teenagers!

I love the teenagers at LCA. They think about more than themselves and how to serve others.

Connecting Events

Community is a high priority at LCA, so we look for ways to help our families connect with one another and those outside our community, as well. Here are some of those opportunities:

Bible studies

We have had a variety of Bible studies over the years — women’s/men’s studies, elementary and secondary student Bible studies, book studies, and topical studies to address issues that are relevant to our families and community.

Social activities

LCA moms get together by grade level for coffees, dinners, and other special events. Dads connect by grade level through activities like sports, camping, and book/Bible studies. Take the Lead is an LCA Dads’ group that brings together all of our LCA men to grow in their walk with Christ as fathers, husbands, and leaders in their homes and community.

Service projects

All of our students, elementary and secondary, participate in service projects led by their grade. These include a wide range of activities, such as serving at local food banks, animal shelters, Operation Christmas Child, clothing and food drives, and mission organizations.

Volunteering

There are countless ways to serve at LCA, and these opportunities are organized and facilitated by our PLUS Team (Parent Leaders United in Service). Some examples include room parents, social coordinators, assisting with class traditions, drop-off, and pick-up to name a few.

Parent workshops

Twice a year, once in August and once in January, we host a Parent Workshops (PWs) to support our community and families. PWs begin on Friday night and end at lunchtime on Saturday. These workshops are required because meeting face to face in community and growing in relationships with one another is a high priority at LCA.

Parent teacher fellowships

Once or twice a semester, we have parent teacher fellowships (PTFs) that take place in the evening. These events might be guest speakers on special topics of interest for our families.

Face-to-face meetings

Once or twice a month throughout the year, Family Life facilitates small group, face-to-face (F2F) meetings with our core leadership team. These usually take place during the school day with rotating members of the leadership team. Parents, faculty, and staff can choose to participate if the F2F topic is something of interest to them. Each meeting will have a specific focus such as elementary, athletic, secondary, or student life. These F2F meetings provide a wonderful, small group experience to get to know our leadership team and other members of the community.

Elementary & Secondary Grandparents’ Day

In the fall, we host Elementary Grandparents’ Day to honor our grandparents and to give them an opportunity to see their classrooms and spend time with their grandchildren. During the spring semester, we celebrate Secondary Grandparents’ Day and invite them to join their grandchildren for Higher Ground (secondary chapel) and lunch.
