Preschool

LCA does not require incoming PK4 students to complete a placement test.

Kindergarten – 1st Grade

Thirty-minute individual evaluations are administered on a one-on-one basis at the LCA campus by an LCA Teacher. These evaluations are scheduled by the Elementary Department after completing the online application.

Kindergarten study guides are available HERE (fall enrollment) and HERE (spring enrollment).

1st grade study guides are available HERE (fall enrollment) and HERE (spring enrollment).

2nd Grade

Language and Math portions of the ITBS test will be administered in a small group setting at LCA. It will be approximately 1 1/2 hours long with a writing sample included.

3rd- 6th Grade

Students applying to these grades will submit the most recent standardized testing. This includes tests such as: MAP, STAAR, Terra Nova and the Iowa test. If a student does not have standardized testing, they will take the proctored ISEE test At Home. A writing sample will be completed at home by all students and returned to the Elementary Department.

7th- 12th Grade

All students applying for these grades will come to LCA on the designated day to complete a Math Skills Test and Writing Sample. This will be a 3-hour test, in a group setting, with a break and snack in the middle of the time.

Once the Admissions Team has reviewed an application and all required documents, a family may be invited to attend an interview with 2 of our wonderful staff members.  Invitations for a family interview are given when the school can see that there would potentially be a good partnership with a family. A Family Interiew is not guaranteed. Should you have a Family Interview, this is a good time to have any remaining questions answered and for all to better discern if LCA is the right school for their family. Both parents, any potential co-teachers, and all potential students must attend the interview.

Every family will receive an email communicating the decision of the Admissions Committee.
