Language Arts:
Skills are taught to lay the foundation for reading readiness by integrating the following: oral language, print awareness, phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, and alphabetic knowledge.
Math:
Our math program is taught using an interactive, hands-on approach that teaches numbers, number sense, counting, and patterning, as well as a wide range of concepts, such as spatial sense, geometry, and critical problem-solving.
Bible:
LCA teaches Bible concepts through the use of a curriculum called Purposeful Design by ACSI, as well as through Old and New Testament stories and Bible verse memory with hand motions.
Science:
We learn about God’s world by exploring different habitats. Science units include: creation, woodlands, spiders, dinosaurs, polar, rainforest, ocean, desert, farm, and zoo. In addition to habitats, lessons will include weather, sink & float, senses, life cycles, seasons, our bodies, health/nutrition, plants, and animals.
Lucas Christian Academy is a hybrid model school and is organized around the foundational premise that meaningful and positive parental mentoring makes the biggest difference in a child’s education.
It is the policy of Lucas Christian Academy (“LCA” or “the School”) to maintain a school environment that is free from discrimination and to conduct its educational practices, admissions program, financial aid policies, hiring, and other school-administrative programs on the basis of an individual’s qualifications and abilities. The School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, gender, sex, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, military status, religion, disability/handicap, or any other protected status in accordance with the requirements of all federal, state, and local laws, unless such status is required as a bona fide occupational qualification and/or such status or characteristic contradicts the deeply held religious convictions of the School, as explained in our Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality.
