Academics at Lucas Christian Academy exist to inspire a passion for God’s truth and beauty, train students to think critically from a Biblical framework, and encourage the virtues of lifelong learning.
Lucas Christian Academy provides a positive learning environment to foster student growth spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. LCA teachers are godly examples to students and are purposeful in trying to integrate biblical truth, character traits, and LCA roots throughout the day. Elementary teachers use various teaching strategies in the classroom to reach each and every student. Because students present with many learning styles, we believe engaging lectures, class and group discussions, group activities, individual and group work, experiments, observations, and hands-on manipulatives are all vital in the classroom. Our students are challenged academically while being loved and encouraged to grow in God’s word through classroom Bible class and chapel each week.
LCA’s model for elementary students is a five-day academic program with students spending three days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) on campus from 8:00-2:25 and two days (Tuesday and Thursday) in their “satellite classroom” at home. Elective classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30-3:25. Bible, chapel, conversational Spanish, and recess are included in their day.
Young students are most successful in an educational environment conducive to the integration of subject material and flexibility in instruction.
